One of the trips that we went on in Madeira was to the Museum of Volcanism.
You actually got to go inside one of the Extinct Volcanoes that makes up Madeira and walk along one of the Lava tubes (like this one).

This was the last photo that I took when I was in Central America (Guatemala to be precise) as my camera ran out of batteries. On the last day I took a tour up to the Volcano Mount Pacaya which is just outside of Antigua, which is a beautiful town, (now a world heritage site) which was partly destroyed in an Earthquake. The Steam on the right is coming off of the Lava.
